Two Hands Zippy's Block Shiraz 2010 750ml, Barossa Valley
Sadly, the 2010 Zippy's Block Shiraz was the last ever vintage produced despite seven successful vintages from 2004 to 2010. On the upside, the 2010 vintage went out with a bang scoring 98 points from Wine Spectator. Even though Two Hands Wines will not be producing any more vintages of Zippy's Block, we thank them what they have created knowing that these wines can be enjoyed for many years to come.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 93 pts - Coming from a single vineyard in Marananga, the 2010 Zippy's Block Shiraz has a deep purple-black color and very intense black fruit compote nose with nuances of Szechuan pepper, charcoal, fertile loam, anise and sauteed Provence herbs. Very full bodied, big and richly fruited in the mouth, it has a medium level of velvety tannins and refreshing acid, finishing with great persistence. Approachable now, it should drink to 2024+. - Feb 2013
Wine Spectator - 98 pts - Vivid, expressive and impressively complete, playing out its raspberry, cherry, black olive, licorice and mineral flavors in Technicolor. This one has all the elements, putting them in relief against refined tannins and impeccable balance. Best from 2015 through 2025. 25 cases imported. -HS, Nov 2012
