Kaesler WOMS Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 750ml, Barossa Valley
The 2006 Kaesler WOMS (Weapons of Mass Seduction) provides a different style to the usual super charged Shiraz produced by Kaesler wines. This vintage is a 94 point wine that provides proof that Kaesler are capable of creating a superb array of different stylings in order to showcase what Barossa Valley fruit is capable of given the right wine making expertise. Enjoy this limited release sensation now, or cellar until 2020 and beyond.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 92 pts - The 2006 Shiraz (65%)-Cabernet Sauvignon (35%) WOMS , an acronym for Weapon of Mass Seduction, sourced from vines ranging in age from 45 to 109 years, and aged for 18 months in new and one year French oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it reveals a sexy perfume of pain grille, underbrush, pencil lead, black currant, and blueberry. Full-bodied on the palate, it demands 4-6 years of cellaring to reveal its full potential. The tannins are ripe and there are tons of spicy fruit so it should provide satisfying drinking from 2013 to 2026. - Feb 2009
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 94 pts - A deep and dark full-bodied combination of cassis and blackberry; super-ripe and very rich, with plenty of oak; exceptional and amazing concentration; the acid on the finish is vibrant and fresh. Date tasted 25 Jan 2008, drink by 2020
