Two Hands Wines have yet again impressed with the 2006 Aphrodite Cabernet Sauvignon bringing true testament as to why it is their premier Cabernet Sauvignon. Like the previous vintage it has the structure to last beyond 2030.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 95 pts - There are three 'icon'? wines in the portfolio.The 2006 Aphrodite is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard facing Torbreck's Les Amis property. It was barrel-fermented and aged in 100% new French oak resulting in a super-rich, fragrant, complex Cabernet. The nose offers up aromas of toasty oak, pencil lead, spice box, black currant, and blackberry liqueur leading to an opulent wine with gobs of succulent flavor, well concealed ripe tannin, and impeccable balance. Cellar it for a decade and drink it through 2036. - Feb 2009
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 94 pts - Dense colour; an exuberant, voluptuous cabernet which clearly says 'take me on my terms or not at all'; somehow or other, avoids the dead, jammy flavours normally associated with cabernet at this alcohol level. Date tasted 11 Mar 2009. Drink by 2030
