Two Hands Yacca Block Shiraz 2018 750ml, Eden Valley
Wine Advocate’s Joe Czerwinski 98 points !
“Just like last year, this patch of the Eden Valley has turned out a magnificent wine. The 2018 Yacca Block Menglers Hill Shiraz boasts fragrant notes of violets and blueberries spiced with hints of cinnamon, caramel and roasted meat. It’s the biggest of the Block wines, labeled at 14.3% alcohol, but despite being full-bodied, comes across as impeccably balanced. It’s fleshy and generous, but supple tannins, which turn silky on the lengthy finish, keep the overall impression one of savory elegance.”

Fermented with 20% whole bunches, the remainder whole berry, 18 days on skins, plunged daily, the free-run and pressings combined after fermentation and racked off gross lees, matured for 18 months in French barriques and hogsheads (15% new). Spicy/textured whole bunch delivers.
