Torbreck The Factor Shiraz 2010 750ml, Barossa Valley
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 97+ pts - Deep garnet-purple color and a 100% Shiraz wine aged in predominately older oak, the 2010 The Factor reveals a stunningly beautiful nose of creme de cassis, plum pudding and blackberry coulis with intriguing flourishes of licorice, dark chocolate, cloves and peppered salami. Big and voluptuously fruited in the full-bodied mouth, this is a full-on, complex Shiraz possessing a great foundation of firm, rounded tannins and an energized acid backbone to bring everything to a finish with outstanding length and harmony. Approachable now, it should drink best 2016 to 2028+. - Feb 2014
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 92 pts - Deep crimson-purple; a challenging wine, throwing questions from all angles: is the bouquet simply ripe or is there dead fruit? Can you cope with the surge on the finish? The cork isn't to blame, although one can see the distortion caused by the interior of the bottle neck. Date tasted 27 May 2014. Drink by 2025.
Wine Spectator - 91 pts - Plush and round, with a ripe profile showing blueberry, cherry and licorice flavors in abundance. Comes together smoothly on the harmonious finish. Drink now through 2018. 96 cases made. -HS Mar 31 2015.
