Spinifex Shiraz Viognier 2005 750ml, Eden Valley
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 94 pts - The 2005 Shiraz - Viognier (5%) is a saturated purple. It offers aromas of pain grille, violets, bacon, sausage, black cherry and blueberry in a style reminiscent of Cote-Rotie. Full-bodied, sweet, and dense, this lengthy, structured wine will benefit from extended cellaring and drink well through 2030. It should come as no surprise that one of the partners in this venture has a family history of winegrowing in Montpellier, France spanning over ten generations. - Oct 2007
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 97 pts - The leader of the band, with significantly richer and more overtly powerful fruit than Esprit or Indigene, but without losing any of their elegance and perfect balance. Polished to a lustrous sheen, it is able to convince you to drink it now, when it really needs another 5 years minimum, and decades thereafter. Very high-quality cork. Date tasted 30 Mar 2007. Drink by 2025.
Wine Spectator - 91 pts - Smooth and lively, this harmonious wine shows a spicy, floral character to the blackberry and white pepper flavors, finishing with grace. Drink now through 2015. 220 cases made. -HS Aug 31 2007
