Oliver's Taranga Shiraz 2005 750ml, McLaren Vale
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 88 pts - The 2005 Shiraz spent two years in 50% new oak, equal parts French and American. Yields were a modest 2 tons per acre. The wine is crimson-colored with an attractive perfume of espresso, mocha, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, on the palate the wine narrows slightly although the fruit is ripe and sweet. With a few years in the bottle, it may well round out and my score will then appear conservative. - Oct 2007
James Halliday's Wine Companion - 92 pts - Good colour; good concentration with fruitcake aromas and dark fruits; the full-bodied palate has plenty of punch on the chewy finish. Date tasted 2 Jan 20085. Drink by 2018.
