Expert Reviews

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - 96 pts - The 2002 Shiraz Lily's Garden (1,200 cases) is a potent, powerful offering from McLaren Vale. Among the biggest of the Two Hands wines (15.5% alcohol), this dense purple-colored Shiraz has a stupendous perfume of espresso roast, white chocolate, blackberry liqueur, and a leathery, meaty component. With terrific texture as well as unctuosity, and a finish that lasts for nearly a minute, this spectacular Shiraz should drink well young, but last for a decade. - Oct 2004

James Halliday's Wine Companion - 93 pts - Medium to full-bodied; savoury, earthy, bitter chocolate, mint and blackberry flavours; fine-grained tannins. Date tasted 26 Nov 2003, drink by 2017Wine Spectator - 94 pts - Ripe and beautifully focused, a bit shy on the nose but explosive in the mouth, offering a cascade of blueberry, plum, coffee and cedar flavors that linger effectively for minutes on end. Best from 2006 through 2015. 400 cases imported. -HS, Dec 2003
